Scarlet Anderson (pictured), currently audience growth manager at GLAMOUR UK, has been appointed deputy head of audience at The Independent. In this role, Scarlet will help to develop and implement SEO and social media strategy across all platforms.

Working across all sections of the newsroom, collaborating with heads of departments, Scarlet will support audience teams across the globe in developing and executing strategies for 24 hour coverage. Using press releases, tips, analytics and trends Scarlet will suggest daily stories for topics from lifestyle, news, culture to sport and more.

Scarlet will commence her role 23 May.
