The New York Times has announced Melissa Kirsch (pictured, left) has been promoted from culture and lifestyle editor to deputy editor, culture and lifestyle where she will manage the daily editorial operations and advise desk heads. Melissa will continue to write the Saturday edition of The Morning newsletter.

Additionally, Farah Miller (pictured, right) has been promoted from editorial director of Well to join the culture and lifestyle department as deputy editor for strategy and operations. In this role Farah will focus on recruiting, workflow processes, budgets and core logistics, as well as the management of our diversity, equity and inclusion.
