The Salvation Army has launched a Take Back Scheme, an in-store and online clothing bank solution offering brands the opportunity to allow customers to donate their unwanted textiles in-store or via a link on the brand's website. It’s the modern approach to charitable donations and an efficient way to combat the throwaway fashion crisis. Once received by the warehouse, their charitable donations will change lives as the profits received from the resale will be donated to The Salvation Army. Oh Polly is the first retailer to launch the Online Clothing Bank, allowing UK customers to donate for a discount, as part of The Salvation Army's Take Back Scheme. See more here.
The Salvation Army has also announced the launch of its Redesigning Fashion campaign, produced by leading industry professionals. The new campaign features images from top fashion photographer Catherine Harbour. Displaying an innovative approach to reusing textiles and giving them a new lease of life, the high fashion looks and trend-led styling echo a message of hope and SATCoL’s commitment to saving our planet one donation at a time. Catherine Harbour shared “I really like the work that SATCoL do to support the circular economy and driving environmental change.
