The Salvation Army Trading Company (SATCoL) has launched its new Drop and Shop in Morrisons, Wednesbury store. Customers can now drop off their charitable donations in the store and then shop for their home and food essentials, as part of the new scheme run by SATCoL, The Salvation Army’s trading arm. The partnership will raise vital funds and support the Charity’s work across the UK and Ireland, which includes tackling homelessness and the underlying issues, support for the victims of human trafficking and modern slavery, and struggling families. The Salvation Army also actively works to combat climate change through reuse and recycling schemes, run by SATCoL.
Kirk Bradley, SATCoL’s Head of Corporate Partnerships, said: “We are thrilled to be working with Morrison’s sustainability team on the new Drop & Shop concept. This enables us to interact with Morrison’s customers and donors; it also gives more people the opportunity to reuse and recycle their pre-loved items which helps reduce waste and raise more money for vital charity work."
The Salvation Army will also be launching a Drop and Shop with Morrisons Failsworth store later in the year and customers can continue to donate their pre-loved textiles to SATCoL banks across Morrisons stores nationwide.
