Timberland has launched its first product offering made from Community Cotton fibre sourced from its sustainable supply chain of cotton in Haiti as part of its spring 2021 collection. Timberland's new Earthkeepers Edition styles are made from Haitian-grown cotton, which is naturally strong and durable and has a positive impact on the farmers' communities and futures.
This launch represents an important milestone in Timberland’s five-year journey to re-introduce cotton growing in Haiti after a 30-year hiatus, in partnership with the Smallholder Farmers Alliance. Community Cotton™ fibres are grown using an innovative agroforestry model: in return for volunteering time to plant and grow trees in Haiti, farmers receive valuable training, tools and seeds to use on their own farms.
