Twitter could be building a new subscription platform that can be reused by other teams in the future. Twitter posted a job for web engineers to work on the service, revealing its new internal team, codenamed Gryphon. The team will work closely with the payments team and the Twitter.com team. The job posting notes potential Twitter subscriptions would be a first for the company, but it’s not clear exactly how Twitter plans to implement a subscription service.
