Beauty brand, Urban Decay has announced that it will be discontinuing its Naked Palette, the product that revolutionized neutral eyeshadows. Having made $1 billion since 2010, to this day over 30 million Naked Palettes have been sold with one being sold every six seconds.
“Saying goodbye to Naked is extremely bittersweet," comments Wende Zomnir, founding partner of Urban Decay. “It was a big moment in our history. It’s a little painful to leave your past behind, but it’s also essential to always evolve. I will forever miss Naked, but we plan to turn the grief into even more greatness. Urban Decay will continue to thrive in Naked's memory and honour - just wait and see.”
Wende Zomnir and Urban Decay conceived Naked in 2010. The now-famous flow of champagne-inspired neutral tones, came to life after Wende asked her product development team for the four eyeshadow shades they would bring to a desert island. After seeing the assortment of nudes, Naked was born.
The funeral was held on 24 August in Newport Beach, CA in a nude-coloured field and was attended by influencers Kandee Johnson, Christen Dominique, Katy DeGroot, Shayla Mitchell and Chrisspy with a eulogy by Nicole Richie.
The Naked Palette is still available to buy HERE until stocks last.
