The Victoria & Albert Museum has launched a series of YouTube videos that take viewers on a tour of its Kimono: Kyoto to Catwalk exhibition. The exhibition, which closed two weeks into its run, is the first major exhibition devoted to kimono in Europe. It showcases rare 17th and 18th-century kimono alongside creations designed by John Galliano for Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Thom Browne, Rei Kawakubo and Jean Paul Gaultier.
The series of five videos takes the viewer on a personal curator tour of Kimono: Kyoto to Catwalk with its curator Anna Jackson. Anna guides viewers through the exhibition spaces, providing a personal insight into the making of the show, star exhibits and the history of the kimono.
