Online wine retailer Virgin Wines has appointed Focus PR to deliver its consumer, trade and corporate PR strategy, following a competitive pitch. The campaign will entail raising awareness of Virgin Wines among UK wine lovers, communicating corporate announcements and supporting its gifting business through the imperative Christmas period. Virgin Wines prides itself on an innovative and mould-breaking range, sourced by the team of wine buyers who travel the world to find inspiring people to develop remarkable wines. Virgin Wines was set up in 2000 under Richard Branson’s Virgin banner but became a subsidiary of Direct Wines in 2005. In November 2013, CEO Jay Wright, CFO Graeme Weir and Marketing Director Paul Adams bought out the UK business from Direct Wines.
