Vogue Arabia’s bilingual online platform goes live today. Vogue.me, a digital-first launch for the Vogue brand, precedes the print launch, slated for spring 2017.
Key editorial launch pieces include a cinematic encounter with Lebanese designer Elie Saab, directed by Elisa Sednaoui in Beirut; an interview with International Vogue Editor Suzy Menkes on the Middle Eastern fashion scene; a video exclusive with Gigi Hadid, and the definitive edit of the most stylish abayas to stock up on for the autumn season, among many others.
On 1 November, Vogue Arabia will announce the winner of the DDFC/Vogue Fashion Prize, an annual endowment for the Arab world’s most promising fashion talents. The first of its kind in the region, the Fashion Prize was launched in 2015 by Nervora, in partnership with the Dubai Design & Fashion Council and the luxury e-commerce platform Farfetch, and aims to invigorate regional talent by providing a yearly program for emerging Middle Eastern designers to showcase their abilities. The involvement of Vogue will ensure significant recognition for both the shortlisted designers and winners.
