Date posted on DIARY directory: Wednesday 9th September 2015
WGSN, the world’s leading forecaster of consumer, fashion and design trends, has announced its catwalk forecast ahead of the 2015 London, New York and Paris fashion weeks. Developed and verified by WGSN’s industry leading catwalk team, using ‘big data’ analytics, over 17 years of industry expertise, and the WGSN fashion insights from its global team, this forecast provides the definitive view of the upcoming catwalk season. There are five key trends that have been identified, including: Modern Masters, which references to past history such as the silhouettes inspired by ancient Greece and Rome, while styling continues with a polished masculine quality with ethereal forms; Leisure Luxe, a combination of leisure and sporty elements combined with oversized jackets in a palette of soft cosmetic hues, and silhouettes that are relaxed and loose fitting with simple lines, layering and men's tailoring; Latin Glamour, a bright saturated colour palette with reference to Cuba and the Caribbean, featuring across silhouettes resplendent in naive exotica of hothouse florals and shoulder revealing styling, as well as retro florals, palm patterns and cascading ruffles; Graceful Edge, a feminine, graceful and romantic trend that references vintage heirlooms and features layered lace, pleats and sheer materials in soft florals and odd colour combinations; and Culture Club, an evolution of the 80s, with distinctly experimental and directional designs injected with high-octane colours. Important colours noted for the upcoming season include: deep sea coral, red, indigo, blush tones (peach nougat), pinks (cosmetic), browns (amber), gold metallics, white, citrus hues and bright blue.
