Greg Williams has been named editor of WIRED. Currently deputy editor at the title, a position he has held since January 2010, Greg was formerly editor of Arena as well as executive editor of Details during time spent in New York. Since joining WIRED, he has curated the sellout WIRED Money and Security conferences, and is editor of the annual trend forecasting WIRED World publication and the 100 Hottest Startups supplement. Greg is a regular speaker on technology trends at international events, and has also had six novels published. He will take up the role of editor from the beginning of February. This appointment follows the decision of editor-in-chief David Rowan to step aside to enable him to build his own business, as well as working with startups, various book projects and other goals. David Rowan will remain closely involved with WIRED in the future.
