Condé Nast has announced the forthcoming launch of WIRED in South Korea, with Yoon-Kyoung Kim appointed editor-in-chief. The sixth edition of the title launches digitally at the end of 2019 in partnership with Eclat Media Group, a leading Korean media company. WIRED Korea will deliver news, information and insights into Korean ICT and culture to global readers.
WIRED Korea will launch with a digital-first proposition, debuting initially with its website, followed progressively by print, social, newsletter, podcasts and television platforms. The print edition will launch in 2020. The diversification of distribution channels is designed to deliver a range of news and insights in a language which connects to a broad audience.
Wolfgang Blau, Chief Operating Officer & President, International commented: “WIRED is a powerful voice of the future, it delivers in-depth analysis and research with a focus on the impact of technology on our daily lives. South Korea has long held the status of one of the world’s most connected societies and so it makes sense to now launch a Korean edition of the title. Wired Korea joins the market as the sixth edition of the title, strengthening the network of the brand, which currently reaches over 30 million readers worldwide and is set to grow.”
