WIRED has announced the launch of WIRED Video in addition to its new reimagined website. The new site has been developed from a mobile first strategy through to desktop, resulting in a seamless user experience across all devices. The redesigned site is now live, while the Video channel, sponsored by Microsoft, will launch with a teaser for Future Cities today with the first episode being released on 7 June.
Key elements of the reimagined site include: WIRED Video dedicated channel launch; new custom built CMS for ‘on the go’ journalism live within 10 minutes of writing; built with API framework to allow for cross-platform publishing; infinite scroll on all devices, plus quicker loading; bespoke ad formats redeveloped for mobile optimization; sticky ads and lazy-load ads for better viewability; greater native placements and topic channels for partner content; and solus premium advertising only on the homepage as part of a wider sponsorship package.
The reimagining of the WIRED.co.uk site coincides with the appointment of Victoria Woollaston as editor. Victoria joins from MailOnline where she was acting UK science and technology editor.
