YouTube has announced the launch of a new immersive experience, AR Beauty Try-On. The new feature allows viewers to virtually try on make-up while following tutorials to get product reviews, tips, and more by offering realistic, virtual product samples that work on a full range of skin tones. AR Beauty Try-On is currently in alpha mode and only available through FameBit by Youtube.
MAC Cosmetics is the first to launch an AR Beauty Try-On campaign with FamebBit, allowing the brand to expand its influencer campaigns into YouTube.
YouTube is also launching Swirl, an immersive display format that brings three-dimensional assets to display advertising on the mobile web. This can help educate customers before they purchase by zooming in and out, rotating the product and viewing an animation. Swirl is available exclusively through Display and Video 360.
These new immersive tools will be available to advertisers and brands this summer, helping to make content more educational and engaging, with the goal of driving purchase decisions.
