New hair and beauty event, Shades of Beauty Live, has announced its launch, taking place on the 24 and 25 of August at London’s Lindley Hall. Speakers will include Sharmadean Reid MBE, The Slumflower (Chidera Eggerue), award-winning author and founder of the #SAGGYBOOBSMATTER movement, Capital XTRA’s Yinka Bokinni and authors Yomi Adegoke and Elizabeth Uviebinene, and many more! The ladies will be representing and celebrating black women’s individual expression.
The event will connect brands with customers, engaging in conversation and bringing a community back into the hair and beauty scene. The two-day show will feature popular brands such as Palmer’s Cocoa Butter, Schwarzkopf, Revlon, Twisted Sista, Cantu, HiGlow by Rochelle Humes, Soap & Glory as well as independently-owned UK brands.
The show will feature live panel discussions including topics around beauty perceptions in the digital age and colourism, where visitors will hear from inspiring personalities across the hair, beauty and lifestyle sectors.

The event supports Ashdon Jazz Academy, a charity set up by a mother in memory of her daughter providing mentoring services for girls living in South London.
